.ca is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Canada. CIRA (The Canadian Internet Registration Authority) manages the registry operation for .ca since 2000.

Anyone who wants to register a .ca domain name must have a presence in Canada.

In 2008, CIRA announced that it has surpassed one million .ca domain name registrations. It hit 2.5 million domain names in 2016.

Since January 2013, .ca is open for French IDNs which means you can use French characters in your domain name.
